The Greatest of All Is Love

God, the embodiment of love, has dispatched prophets to every corner of the globe, and the entire earth is being evangelized. Whenever members from diverse countries, cultures, and languages come together, their interactions are marked by kindness and compassion toward one another. Witnessing this unity fosters a profound sense of oneness, affirming that as God’s children, bound together by love, we share a wealth of love among us.

The greatest of all, is love. The Bible says, “Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love” (1 Jn 4:7–8, 16). If we do not know God, we cannot be saved (2 Th 1:7–9). The Bible says that we pass from death to life by loving each other, and that we cannot love God, whom we cannot see, without loving our visible brothers and sisters (1 Jn 3:14–16; 4:20–21). When we know God’s love, we become God’s children. God is love, and His children are also love.

Father loved us even to the point of death. With love that seeks to rescue sinful children from the punishment of hell and lead them to heaven, He clothed Himself in flesh in the name of Jesus at His first coming and in the name of Ahnsahnghong at His second coming on this earth. He humbled Himself and save many people, serving them (Php 2:2–7; Mk 10:43–45). Even though He sacrificed Himself for a long time and carried out all kinds of hard work, He never stopped smiling at the joy of saving one life after another. He set an example of love so that we should do the same (Jn 13:15, 34). To save many, we must serve rather than be served, and we must sacrifice ourselves. Apostle Paul, who had abundant knowledge, wealth, and authority, humbled himself as a servant to spread the gospel to multitudes. He experienced a rebirth upon answering God’s call, enduring numerous sacrifices and significant suffering in the process (1 Co 9:19).

In order to enter the kingdom of heaven, we must undergo a spiritual rebirth (Jn 3:3), transitioning from arrogance, hurtfulness, and self-centeredness to a love that prioritizes the well-being of others above our own. We ought to focus deeply on heavenly matters and conduct ourselves in a manner befitting children of God (Col 3:1; Jn 8:39). Let us be born again, encouraging and comforting each other with gracious words, steering clear gossip or hurtful speech (Eph 4:22–29). God gave us eternal life through the New Covenant Passover, and allowed us to have God, the reality of the tree of life, in us. So we, who worship God, must act holy and beautiful (Jn 6:53–56; Mt 26:17–28). If we live according to God’s word, we will be born again into heavenly children. As written in the Bible about love, let us not become angry, act rudely, or boast about ourselves, but boast greatly about God (1 Co 13:1–13; Gal 6:14).

Upon this foundation of love, there exists a greater love that God demands from us. Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your strength and with all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.” After that, He told the Parable of the Good Samaritan who saved a man left for dead by robbers (Lk 10:25-37). The greatest love is to save dying souls, and only by doing this can we gain eternal life. Jesus asked Peter, “Do you love me?” Then, He said, “Feed my sheep,” urging him to show love by sharing the bread of eternal life (Jn 21:15).

God takes great pleasure in leading sinners to repentance (Lk 15:7). That is why He Himself came to this earth to seek and save sinners who were lost in the kingdom of heaven (Lk 19:10; Mt 9:13). If we realize this love, we must do God’s work as His children who receive eternal life more precious than the whole world and who inherit the kingdom of heaven.

Let us share the Passover New Covenant, the food of life given by God, to those who are dying from disasters and sins. Our present sufferings we endure while proclaiming the gospel are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed in us (Ro 8:18). God, who is love, has given us the right to become His children to call Him Father, granting us eternal life and the beautiful kingdom of heaven. Let us, therefore, endeavor to guide many souls to God’s side through love.
